Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Microneedle & Injections Treatment Houston
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is component of each patient’s blood and is responsible for helping blood to clot and rebuild damaged tissue. Since the 1980s, PRP has been used in the medical field for its wound healing properties (open-heart surgery, orthopedic surgery, nerve injury, sports medicine, etc.).
Several growth factors naturally exist in platelet rich plasma which can stimulate collagen production and rejuvenate the skin when injected via microneedling or directly into the dermis.
For our patients, we offer a combination treatment of microneedling with PRP for the full face, followed by injections of PRP to isolated areas- usually around the eyes and mouth. We feel these direct injections to the deeper tissues greatly enhance the PRP tissue rejuvenation effect. To complete the treatment, we include the OBAGI Gentle Rejuvenation System for at home care. These skincare products are specially formulated to calm, moisturize and protect the skin after treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is microneedling?
Microneedling is a resurfacing procedure that stimulates the skin’s natural ability to produce collagen and improve elasticity.
What is the downtime?
Patients may return to work the next day- some patients’ skin may still have a slight pinkish color which can easily be covered with make-up.
Why is PRP treatment at Steely Plastic Surgery different from other offices?
As opposed to many claiming to be using PRP- they are actually using PPP (Platelet Poor Plasma) that while beneficial, does not have the same rejuvenative capacity of our specially developed protocol to concentrate the vital growth factors in truly platelet rich plasma.
